I was first introduced to yoga & meditation as a teen by my grandparents and I started to regularly attend classes in my twenties. I found that yoga helped improve my physical and mental health. I connected deeply with the lifestyle and philosophy of yoga. My well-being and stress levels were improving with every practice and within a few years I saw yoga becoming a part of my daily life. I truly love the blissful feeling at the end of each class I attend. As a student, I couldn't stop talking about the benefits of yoga (I still can't) and brought many family and friends to my home studio. I kept hearing over and over from my mentor "you should really think about teaching."
I received my 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification in 2016 under the guidance of Leslie Coombs at Avalon Yoga & Wellness Center. Within the early months of teaching, I knew I had found my calling! In 2021 I completed studying with amazing teachers at The Yoga Center of Columbia, receiving my 300 hour Advanced Teacher Training certification. Given my first-hand experience with the benefits of yoga, I particularly enjoy introducing new students to the practice. I strive to incorporate alignment, postures, breath work, yogic philosophy, and meditation into each of my classes. My additional trainings include teaching meditation, prenatal yoga, chair yoga, yoga for Osteoporosis, and yoga & mindfulness for children ages 0-12. My passion for building a community helps create a supportive environment in my classes. I teach group classes and private lessons to all levels, ages, and abilities. I live in Ellicott City, MD with my amazing husband, Josh. Together we host Acoustic Yoga workshops and an annual movement & music festival. Please reach out to me if you want to learn more about what I practice, love, and teach!
